This is just a quick blog to let you know that I am still alive. I have been extremely busy with school so I haven’t found time to work on Broken Fall, but I will do my best not to put it on hiatus. I’ve never really understood why people put their sites on hiatus, but now I can see a valid reason.

So a quick update about what has been going on in my life. Thank you for all the sweet comments on my last blog (which I will return eventually of course). I am feeling better and my friend and I have made up. My mom and I have not fought lately either. :)

The fall robotics season started yesterday, so I will be even more busy now. On top of the usual homework, I will be doing robotics for at least twelve hours a week. I know I can manage this, but there is a question of if I can maintain the site in the midst of it all. As much as I love working on my site, it just doesn’t seem very reasonable at the moment. There are deadlines I have to meet for university applications, scholarship applications, and contests too. It’s all very stressful.

On one application I was asked which of my activities I would continue if I could only do one. I wrote about my website and how I love it because I can express myself through it and make connections with people from around the world, in more words of course. I was serious about what I said; it really would be terrible if I had to close my website. That will not happen. There are a lot of things that need to be prioritized ahead of website work right now, but this situation won’t last forever.

Besides, Broken Fall will be one year old on October 26th! Although it was not named Broken Fall when my site was opened last year, I still consider October 26th to be its birthday/anniversary because it is simply the same site as my original Woolisauce, but with a different name. :) Anyways, there will be some kind of contest to celebrate, so look forward to that come October!

One more reason to keep my site open.

I see a blog! :D I see alive, stressed, and busy Rachel. :(

I’m glad you won’t go on hiatus. Somehow, when I see someone on hiatus, it’s like they’re not in my reach anymore and it’s as if there is no way of contacting them. The common white, blank maintenance mode plugin page, edited to reflect the struggle of the owner behind the site.

I’m really glad you aren’t. Even if we do talk every day. It’s just different if your site isn’t here. :)

Robotics is going to be hard with so many hours to work with. I know how busy you have been with those applications as well. *hugs*

You’ll get through it, and I’ll be here for you. And everyone else too, I hope! You don’t have to return comments or anything, and you shouldn’t pressure yourself. I don’t even think you do, which is something I really admire in a way. Sometimes you’ve disappeared from the internet for a day, and you return having done a major essay or something! It’s incredible. :)

My domain competition will probably be over when you have yours; that way no one will be overshadowed! Unless you did want to have it at the same time, hahaha. :)

    Take care. :) <3

I know how you feel with school. Its ridiculas! By the way, I’m hosting a contest to of you want to check it out! I’m planning on extending the deadline cause people aren’t responding as well as I’d have liked! Please check it out!

I’ve been too busy lately that I can’t find time to blog and return comments anymore. Good luck on your robotics, sounds hard, eh?
omg, your blogs anniversary will be on my birthday .. haha

  4. Francine says:

    how have you been??

ive only had my site ever since april but it feels like a year….

  5. Shola says:

I remember woolisauce. (: Huhaha, so it will really be a year of you having your own domain. Cool.

Everytime people start new years they get really pressured and things so I know you aren’t alone in those feelings.

I don’t think you should go on hiatus. If you have tutorials and things they become unaccesable to people who may use them. /: You should just keep open whatever happens.

  6. Kat says:

Glad to hear there will be no hiatus. Also, glad to hear that you’re alive :D . Busy, but alive.

Robotics sounds fun, have no idea what that entails exactly but still.

University and scholarship applications are always stressful, with their deadlines and all. Bu you’ll feel so accomplished once you’re done.

Hi Rachel! Sorry I haven’t written in so long! I’m very busy as well, so I totally know what it feels like (except you are one grade ahead of me). That’s really great you are so dedicated to your website. Sometimes I’ll just want to give up because of my workload, but I always feel like something will be missing, you know?

Oooh, almost your site birthday! Do you mean when Broken Fall opened, or your original site opened? The one that was hosted?

And also, I love your layout! I’m not sure when you put it up but I just want to say it is very nice :D

I don’t think I could ever close my site. XO I also can’t stand the idea of going on hiatus, even if I’m never on (although that has yet to happen). I’m glad you’ve blogged, even though you’re busy. :) We’re all busy… hehe.

    Ooh, almost a year! :D

  9. Lubna says:

Man, sounds like you’re going to be really busy these days.
Wow, you’re really dedicated to choose not to close your site. Sometimes I would feel very low and feel like closing my site, but I would never actually close it. I’ve put so much into it to suddenly quit.
    Anyways, cute layout. =)

  10. Katie says:

Hello! :D Sorry about closing for a while. But just to let you know that I will be back very soon; I’ve just started working on a new layout! :D So yeah, I’ll definitely be back sooon! Hehe

Rereading your blog (sigh… I miss you), I was reminded about how on my scholarship application (at Clark, you filled out one application and were reviewed for every single one they had), I wrote about my site and how much I love HTML stuff… and I won a $2,000 scholarship in honor of a strict old English teacher! XD

  12. Kyle says:

Hey! It’s Kyle, you should remember me from Twitter. Well, you better remember me! :D
I’m sorry that you haven’t had time to work on your site, that sucks :|. School is becoming life now, it’s horrible. It’s never been this busy before, right? Well, to me atleast.
Ooo! I hope you win a scholarship :) . And get into the college you’d like. That’d be awesome.
GAH! If you ever had to close your site, you should still keep a blog or something. I could never just flat out leave wed designing like that.
YAY~ I’m gonna sing happy birthday to your site! o:
Woolisauce? No offense, HAHAH. What was that supposed to mean :3

    p.s how are you?

  15. Mallory says:

Eeek! Guess you shoulda just popped up a Hiatus message after all, eh …? It sucks that you’re so busy you don’t have the time to relax … ‘Specially when you’re still so young. You should be allowed to save the stressing out until you’re older … But unfortunately that’s not how the world runs. :(

Man oh man, if I were in charge of the world … :P

Hope you’ve been well after all this time! ^_^

  16. Shiri says:

Aww, don’t worry. Take your time. Don’t stress. Have some fun moments every now and then. Work hard and it’ll be vacation time before you know it :)

  17. Morgan says:

Hey! I found you on my affiliate, Gillian’s site. I absolutely adore your site! This layout is amazing (:

  18. Alex says:

Thank you! Good luck with all your classes and college stuff too! Have you taken the SAT or ACT?

No, I don’t have my license yet. I don’t even have my permit yet. I’m in the process of working toward it, but I have so much else to do. I have driven around the school parking lot once though XD

I kinda did get the song like that. From youtube. there’s a site, kickyoutube.com and you can find videos there and just get the music off of it. pretty sweet.

    So how are you now?
